Shout Outs, Updates, and Other Useful Information

Hello My Witty Students,

Spring break is coming to a close and I hope you have taken some time for yourself.  I'm interested to hear about your thoughts on the book - special shout out to Oreva (who's completely finished!) and Jessica for completing the first part of the assignment, and half of one to Akua! - and urge you to enjoy the last weeks of your senior year. While I have pushed you, and you have often times pushed back, I am in awe by the depth you bring to class each and every day.

Enough with the schmaltz, and on to the good stuff!
  1. When we return on Monday, March 21, you will be fitness testing! That means comfortable shoes, workout clothes, and a positive attitude! Failure to bring any of these will result in endless and open mocking!
  2. As you begin posting the links to your blogs please be sure you are correctly entering the address (Stephen) or entering the address period (Shadd and Shenyse - since you both have the same initials just place your full name in the comment section). I've deleted both comments since they were incomplete, so please repost.
  3. Enabling your blog to accept comments - Click on Settings, then the Comments tab, then change "Comment Form Placement" to "Full Page." Click on "Save Settings" at the bottom of the page, and double check your Blog to make sure people can now add comments.
  4. Blog assignments 1, 2, and 3 will be due by Tuesday afternoon. I will LOCK the comments section on Tuesday, March 22, at 3 pm. Get cracking!
As always, hit me up if you have any questions.

See you Monday!

Extra Credit: The first person to give me an accurate rationale for why I addressed you all the way I did will receive 5 extra credit points! Complete sentences only because this is still English!

1. It wasn't half of the assignment. Well actually it was since i only did do 1. Put the second part is coming today.
EXTRA CREDIT! You address us the way that you do, because you love us and want to see us prosper in life. Your one of those teachers that really want to make her students successful in the world and that why you say and do the things that you do. :)

Oh Akua, you're partially correct (and sometimes sucking up really does work!). So you definitely earn the extra credit.

But since that wasn't the answer I was really going for, the opportunity is still open.

Extra Credit! You address us this way because you are trying to prepare us for the real world. By this I mean that you want us to fully understand how life works when dealing with people. I also believe that the informal dialect that you have used with us is to show us that you see your students more of young adults now than ignorant children as you might have perceived us in the beginning of the year.

EXTRA CREDIT:
You said it that way because you not only want us to do the best we can but also it ties into apart of the book :)

Extra Credit: I agree with nick.

Just kidding. It is because this is an AP class. You are only preparing us for the exam and college. So this one of the ways that will help us excel by introducing to us something new but yet difficult. Plus, you like "torturing us"

You addressed us this way because you want us to know that there is a fair balance of work and social time. I also think that you addressed us this way because we are graduating and you are going to miss us, want us to do well on the AP test, in life and can't replace us. :P

extra credit: i believe you address us the way you do, because as we enter the 'college world" or for some the adult world. we will be faced with different personalities, whether its workplace or school. for instance teachers who joke, teachers who are bit serious and very strict and teachers to be frank who just dont care. but you show us two sides. you are strict towards us sometimes because you do not want us to cross our boundaries and also you sometimes joke with us to allow us to be comfortable with you, but more specifically to know the balance netween playtime and hardworking time.. what ever way you address us it seem to be working .

It warms my English teacher heart that you realize that I do want you to be as prepared as possible for life beyond high school. And that I push you because I know you can do it, even if you don't see it.

All these sentimental posts will definitely earn extra credit, except for Nick.

And Vy actually hit what I was looking for: some of the addresses and and Blog titles are hilarious!
